Can We Increase Our Height with Supplements And Sport?

growth and supplements

Over the years, many studies have investigated the impact of sports and supplements on height. Findings show that sports and exercise don’t appear to have a statistically meaningful effect on this physical characteristic.

According to scientific data, there isn’t enough evidence that basketball and other sports promote growth. And this isn’t for lack of research. Many studies analyzed the effect of basketball on various physical parameters, and none recorded a significant impact on maximum height, specifically.

However, despite being unable to promote growth, sports and physical exercise can provide other benefits that make it an excellent hobby for both children and adults.

Additionally, available research produced no evidence that dietary supplements can increase adults’ height. Besides, the supplement industry is under-regulated, and there’s a danger of ingesting untested, uncertified, or contaminated ingredients.

Height-improving supplements are most likely to be ineffective and a waste of money. Worst-case scenario, you won’t know the exact quantities of each component in a supplement blend, and you may be exposed to potentially harmful substances. Thus, extra caution is advised when supplementing.

Science shows that genetics is the deciding factor behind growing tall. Besides this, adequate nourishment can also help with reaching your genetic potential. However, the genetically predetermined height, unfortunately, can’t be exceeded.

All in all, exercise and dietary supplements are unlikely to make you taller and can be harmful. Thus, you should consult with your healthcare practitioner before taking any steps to increase your height.
