What Is the Most Researched Nutritional Product in the World

Most Researched Nutritional Product

Supplements flooded the market in the past couple of decades, many claiming to be the elixir of (healthy) life and a solution to many problems caused by fast-paced modern life, lack of balanced diet, etc. But not all of them undergo extensive research to prove their effectiveness.

Which ones do, you may wonder.

Let’s find out!

What Is the Most Researched Nutritional Product in the World?

Juice Plus+ is arguably one of the most researched nutritional products in the world. It’s been clinically researched by many research centers, hospitals, and universities around the world, and it appears in numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Gripping Stats and Facts About the Most Researched Nutritional Product in the World

Now let’s dive deeper into Juice Plus+ supplements and learn more about their brand, benefits, etc.

Juice Plus+ supplements have been around for nearly 30 years.

Over the years, Juice Plus+ has made it from just another name in the supplements business in 1993 to one of the major players in the wellness market of the present day, alongside Life Extension, Organo Gold, Herbalife Nutrition, etc.

The first clinical study on Juice Plus+ was published in 1996.

The study was published in Current Therapeutic Research and tackled the changes in levels of certain nutrients (e.g., carotenoid, tocopherol) in human plasma after supplementation with juice and vegetable extract.

Over the years, Juice Plus+ has invested over $10 million in clinical research of their products.

(Juice Plus+)

This resulted in numerous studies relating to the supplements’ bioavailability, effect on immune function, antioxidant protection, ability to reduce inflammation, ability to protect DNA from oxidation, effects on cognitive function, skin health, gum health, gut health, etc.

Juice Plus+ products contain the juice of 36 different fruits, vegetables, and berries.

(CDC) (Healthline) (MDPI)

This could make it a good source of vitamins and minerals for those who fail to consume the recommended 1.5–2 cups of fruits and 2–3 cups of vegetables a day. According to the CDC, the number of people who fail to do so is very high — 1 in 10 adults.

Still, these products aren’t intended to completely replace a healthy intake of fruit and vegetables, the essential building blocks of a healthy and balanced diet, but only to help fill potential nutritional gaps.

Juice Plus+ may help support immune function.

(British Journal of Nutrition) (ScienceDirect)

Certain studies suggest fruit and vegetable extracts from this supplement can lead to increased activation of some types of immune cells.

Furthermore, one study suggests that this plant-based supplement may reduce the expression of moderate and severe symptoms of the common cold by 20%.

There’s still no evidence that Juice Plus+ supplements are more effective than regular multivitamins.

(Healthline)

Additionally, some studies relating to this product have been heavily criticized for their design.

Furthermore, some sources even highlighted the danger of the studies being biased (since the vast majority of studies on Juice Plus+ supplements were funded by the company that makes them).

Conclusion

Just like every other nutritional supplement out there, Juice Plus+ has pros and cons.

Although the extensive research highlighting its numerous benefits is hard to ignore, it’s important to bear in mind that none of the supplements (be it high-quality multivitamins or Juice Plus+) are meant to replace a healthy lifestyle.

So, make sure to use it only as a health booster and not as a healthy meal replacement.
